If you are a musician and you would like to book a show at Sitwells, you have come to the right place! We love to host musicians from all over the map. Of course, like any other coffeehouse, there is a vibe and a customer base that makes Sitwells what it is. We love it! You love it! In order to keep our fun loving vibe, we ask primarily for acoustic musicians only. Amps and all that loudness tend to scare our customers away from your music. Microphones are fine for those with a quieter voice, but we do prefer to keep it simple. If you question whether or not your music fits Sitwells, the first step is to email SitwellsCoffeeHouseMusic@gmail.com. Send us a link to your website/myspace page/blog/facebook/whatever! so that we can check you out! If you are an acoustic musician and you are sure that your music is what we want, then you need to follow these simple steps:

1. Click on the “Calendar of Events” link/page to the right

2. Find the day that you want to play. If it is free, the spotlight is yours!

3. Click on the date that you wish to play. You need to “create” your event. If there is already an event on that day, you will see the word “create” at the top left. Click there. If there is no other events on that day, it will automatically give you the form to create an event.

4. Add in you name and the time you would like to play. We ask musicians to begin around 8pm, as this is a busier time, and it will not conflict with our schedule. You should put your name in the “calendar text” section.

5. Describe yourself and your event. In the “popup text or URL link” section, you can add details about you, pictures of yourself/group, links to your website, etc. This will be what pops up when people click on your event. It is HTML friendly so that you can add a picture or flier.

6. Click “submit” to post your event to our calendar.

IMPORTANT EXTRAS!!!!
You are responsible for all advertisement of your show. Confirmation of your show is your advertisement. We expect musicians to send us fliers, posters, etc. so that we can help you get the word out. You can mail your stuff by snail mail to Sitwells Coffeehouse, 324 Ludlow Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45220. Once we receive this, your show is confirmed. If you do not send anything to us, your show is not confirmed. And we will then assume that you are not going to come. We are a small staff, and it is hard to contact someone to talk extensively about all the details, and this is why we ask that you promote yourself and take care of the details. If you are a musician who lives in Cincinnati, you can feel free to stop by and drop it off to us in person. Also there are a few simple things that we ask of you while you are at Sitwells for your show.

1. You can have a hat/tip jar, but you can NOT pass it around the restaurant. This will discourage patrons from tipping our servers. They work twice as hard when an event is happening, so please be courteous. We love when musicians mention this before the show, to encourage people to be generous from both sides.

2. You must stay after your show and put the furniture back. Again our employees work very hard, and do not always have time to put the tables back where they belong.

3. If you are an out of town musician, we will give you two free drinks (beer, coffee, or tea) and a free meal. This does not apply to all of the people that you bring with you, but only to the musician/s. Sorry roadies

4. If you would like to play at a time other than 8pm, be sure to plan well and choose a time that will end before 8pm. And keep in mind that we are busier and people are more receptive to live music in the evening. The crowd before 8pm will be significantly smaller.

5. If you do not put yourself into the Sitwells Calendar, someone else may steal your date. This is your first priority.
