post Benefit for Hamid Kerdougheli December 10th

December 3rd, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — TheVesperExperience @ 10:31 pm

Hey everyone,

you might have heard about this on the news, but our good friend Hamid Kerdougheli was robbed in his cab last week.  He also was shot in the neck.  If you ever met Hamid, you know he is a pretty good guy.  He is still in ICU, but we do know he is off life support and has moved his feet.

As with most cab drivers, Hamid’s company doesn’t offer insurance.  His wife and kids are not only left being scared and uncertain of the outcome, they are now financially in trouble.  I don’t think it’s inexpensive to be shot.  So we are holding a benefit December 10th at Sitwell’s to raise money to help cover some of the rising medical costs for Hamid and his family.  We will be raffling off items donated by local businesses (which includes a photo shoot with a professional photographer) , have live music, and etc.  A donation of $3 is asked but not required (but if you do donate you will receive 3 raffle tickets).

We ask that you please come and attend and give what you can.  Love you!!!!

NEWS UPDATE:

A 16 year old male is in custody in connection with the shooting of a cab driver last weekend.

The teen, whose name has not been released by police, was arrested last night and charged with shooting Hamid Kerdougheli in the neck.  Kerdougheli, who is a Ron’s Cab Service driver, was the 1900 block of Westwood-Northern Boulevard last Saturday, when he was attacked.

Police are expected to release more information on the case later.  They haven’t said whether Kerdougheli was shot while picking up a fare or if he was flagged down. Kerdougheli was supposed to pick up a fare on Baltimore Avenue.

Kerdougheli was taken to University Hospital. Police haven’t released any information on his condition since the night of the shooting.

The teen is charged with four robberies including Saturday’s attack, as well as the robbery of another cabbie, a pizza delivery man and a man in his 60’s… who was held up at gunpoint for two dollars and two bottle of Pepsi, according to police.

September 30th, 2009

Filed under: Sitwell Happenings, Special Events, Uncategorized — LoopyLazuli @ 4:50 am

Laurel & Hardy Pictures, Images and Photos

Sitwell’s is pleased to announce that Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy have consented to join us for
an evening of silly cinema on Friday evening October 9 starting at 7PM.

Cost for the films only is $5 for adults while children 12 & younger are free (!). Naturally we
encourage you to enliven the night even more by enjoying some of Sitwell’s famous food
and drink while you laugh at the antics of our on-screen heroes.

Movies to be shown will include a silent film shown with live keyboard accompaniment.
These films are guaranteed to be among the funniest you will see this (or any other) year!

Tell your friends and family about this fun-filled event at Sitwell’s Coffee House, 324
Ludlow Avenue in Clifton. Seating is limited so arrive early to grab your space!

“The Chimp Tent”, the Tri-State’s own local chapter of The Sons of the Desert (the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society) presents an evening of funny films involving Laurel and Hardy. Movies likely to be shown include: 1) Towed In A Hole; 2) Brats; 3) Big Business; and 4) Busy Bodies. Depending on what time it is, and if the audience wants more (and who wouldn’t?), possible ‘bonus’ films might include Hog Wild or County Hospital. Films will start around 7PM but please arrive early as seating is limited and you’ll want to perhaps order some food and/or beverages to add to the enjoyment of the evening.

Questions? Please contact Gene at 513-559-0112 or at chimptent@live.com.
